RUSH Racewear Night at Cayuga County Fair Speedway, Chad Homan finally put his name as a feature winner in the DIRTcar Big-Block Modified record book. Homan used a late race double file restart to get under Steve Paine and go on to the 35-lap win.

Other winners on the night were, Justin Wright DIRTcar Sportsman, Dave Mannise DIRTcar Street Stocks, Doug Williams ESDCA Mod Lites and Bruce Unger BattleKarz. The Sportsman held a Last Man Standing Race that was won by Steve Gray. Tony Steiner and Shannon Whaley led the field down to the green for the 35-lap Big Block Modified Feature with Whaley holding a slight advantage.Just as the field got up to speed the yellow would fly on lap-2 for a spin in turn-four involving Tyler Bartlett and Paul Habeck, both cars would continue.

On the restart Whaley got the jump on the field and opened at ten-car length advantage as Eric Fisher moved into second. With 5-laps in the books Whaley held a slight advantage over Fisher as Steve Paine moved into third. One lap later Paine moved around Fisher and took off after the leader. On lap-10 Whaley and Paine ran nose to tail, Fisher, Mike Mahaney and Chad Homan were a distant third through fifth. The caution would come out on lap-14 for Lance Willix to tighten the field up.

Before the restart Whaley who was running the top to stay out front chose the inside lane for the restart. That was all Paine needed to blast by Whaley and take command of the race.At the halfway point Paine held a half a straightaway led, Homan moved to second, Whaley and Frankie Caprara showed in the top-five.A quick yellow on lap-24 would set up the last double-file restart and Homan would take advantage. Homan who seemed to be the only car running quick on the bottom was able to get by Paine when the green flew. Paine tried to fight back on the top.

As the final laps clicked off Homan was the first under the checkers. Steve Paine, Frankie Caprara, Mike Mahaney and Lance Willix completed the top-five."This has been so long, I’ve dedicated the last four years of my life to be right here, Victory lane," said an excited but relieved Chad Homan after exiting his DigTrack.com No.91 Bicknell.

"We had trouble last night(Canandaigua) me, my dad, my mom, my girlfriend Mary Lou stayed up all night long getting two-hours of sleep fixing it. We came here and were still fixing it.""It was perfect, I got to race Steve Paine for the win. He’s always been telling me how good I’m doing and everything like that. He’s a class act."

Jim Spano led the early going of the 25-lap DIRTcar Sportsman feature. On a lap-10 restart Chris Hile was able todrive by and grab the lead from Spano. While yellow flag fever slowed the race down through out, Justin Wright took advantage from his fifteenth starting spot. With ten to go, Wright moved in on the top two of Hile and Mark Olmstead making it a three-way fight for the win. Wright was able to move around Olmstead and set his sights on the leader.

When starter Dave Farney gave the two to go sign, Wright was able to find bite on the bottom exiting turn four and drive by Hile and the win. Hile, Olmstead, Spano and Steve Gray rounded out the top-five."It was pretty cool to come from the back like that and get up through there," said Wright about his drive to the front and his second win of the year at Cayuga County Fair Speedway. "Chris (Hile) got loose down there and I was able to get by.

I have to thank him for running me clean and letting me run my line when I got to him."Dave Mannise was grabbed the led at the drop of the green of the 15-lap DIRTcar Street Car Feature and led every lap. Nick Rizzo could keep Mannise in sight but never seriously challenged. Andy Fisk came on late to take second place, Rizzo, Mike Welch, Chris Fisher and Wayne Ellison completed the top-five.

Doug Williams started sixth in the 15-lap ESDCA Mod Lite main. By lap-2 Williams went into the led and went unchallenged the rest of the way. Rick Donovan, Clayton Brewer III, Rocco Leone and Justin Crisafulli finished in the top-five.Bruce Unger grabbed the lead at the drop of the green, narrowly avoided a wreck in front of him enroute to the 20-lap BattleKarz win. Karl Werner and Nick Werner chased Unger across the line.
